From a Growing Local Business to DC News Now: A Honeyleaf Platters Story

When I started Honeyleaf Platters, I wasn’t thinking about TV appearances or publicity. I was thinking about food — how it brings people together, how it shows care, and how even a simple gathering feels more special when there’s something beautiful to share.

I never imagined that journey would lead to being invited onto DC News Now — not once, but multiple times.

DC News Now wanted to feature Honeyleaf Platters on their local segment, and suddenly something that began as a passion project was being shared with thousands of people across the DC area.

My first appearance on DC News Now aired in December 2022, where I had the opportunity to share my story, my passion for grazing platters, and what makes Honeyleaf Platters unique. It was an incredible moment — not just personally, but as a local business owner representing the DMV community.

That appearance opened doors, and more importantly, it sparked conversations with new customers who said:

“We didn’t know you were local!”

Being Invited Back — Twice (2024)

Fast forward to 2024, and DC News Now invited me back — not once, but two more times.

By then, Honeyleaf Platters had grown. I had more experience, new platter styles, and so many stories from customers across Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Being able to return and share that growth felt incredibly meaningful.

Each segment gave me the chance to highlight what hasn’t changed:
